About The Brand

Gin Fon Ask jewellery studio was founded in 2016 London, UK. Few years later the projects were put on hold and studio reopened its doors again in 2021 Vilnius, Lithuania. Pairing an elevated aesthetic with a strong sense of personality, I create pieces that are missing from my own jewellery collection and share them with you.
The brand was created out of my passion for unique things and making process. It represent things that I value most: quality, street-style aesthetics and kindness.  I believe it is nice to be nice therefore I always prioritise sourcing my stones and other materials from smaller businesses & use recycled metals.
which means that there has been no mining or human exploitation involved.
Wearing our favourite pieces with a clear conscious is so much enjoyable, isn't it?
I am creating a new approach to everyday jewellery.

History

The Beginning

Gin Fon Ask jewellery studio was started few months after finishing my leathergoods & umbrellas internship. I started buying the most necessary tools and with a blessing from my flatmates created a workshop space in a living room. Most of my days were spend improving jewellery making skills and creating a signature look. I loved dramatic pieces with a drop of grunge so started making big rings & necklaces with Swarovski crystals, black American walnut, sterling silver and miniature screws. At that stage I opened my Etsy shop and my jewellery evolved to easier to wear everyday pieces. At the time I accidentally came across Herkimer diamonds that soon enough became not only my favourite stones but my best sellers as well.

The Pause

Few years have passed and I moved to Manchester, UK. Due to more laid back environment I started craving pieces that are even more wearable than they were before. Simple & small designs did not fit with the branding anymore so I thought it was a good idea to abandon Gin Fon Ask brand and start fresh. That is how The Nude Company was born. Smaller pieces led to more experimentation with different stones & shapes. Soon after I discovered and transitioned to Recycled silver & gold. During the time I got a new camera & improved product photography which is the foundation of the current product shoots. Unfortunately I started feeling that the jewellery became rather stark and the whole work process lacked some spark. I was not happy anymore so I packed my bags and moved back to Lithuania.

The Restart

With the move I was so eager to start something new again. At the time I came back to Vilnius it was a lockdown due to Covid which slowed everything down.I had a lot of time to rethink where I want my brand to go. I decided to look carefully through my jewellery collection and pick the items I like best to take with me on a new venture. I was also not sure about the name of the brand but the only thing I knew is that it needs a change. I had a lot of long walks through a park with one of my best friends talking about all the changes when I got reminded of my Gin Fon Ask brand. I was reluctant to go back to the same name but the more time has passed the more I realised it is the best decision. It is a new chapter with even more exciting designs and techniques!

The Place

It has been a long road but I am finally here! I already have the right name, signature style but there was still something missing... After years working from home I took a big step and got a place that became my studio! The place is based in a quickly developing neighbourhood in Vilnius and it is everything I could have dreamed of. It is definitely not your typical jewellers workshop... Instead of typical jewellers bench I use a vintage office table, have a pink tassel sofa to relax on and a lot of plants & other items I have collected during the years.
