About The Brand
History
The Beginning
Gin Fon Ask jewellery studio was started few months after finishing my leathergoods & umbrellas internship. I started buying the most necessary tools and with a blessing from my flatmates created a workshop space in a living room. Most of my days were spend improving jewellery making skills and creating a signature look. I loved dramatic pieces with a drop of grunge so started making big rings & necklaces with Swarovski crystals, black American walnut, sterling silver and miniature screws. At that stage I opened my Etsy shop and my jewellery evolved to easier to wear everyday pieces. At the time I accidentally came across Herkimer diamonds that soon enough became not only my favourite stones but my best sellers as well.
The Pause
Few years have passed and I moved to Manchester, UK. Due to more laid back environment I started craving pieces that are even more wearable than they were before. Simple & small designs did not fit with the branding anymore so I thought it was a good idea to abandon Gin Fon Ask brand and start fresh. That is how The Nude Company was born. Smaller pieces led to more experimentation with different stones & shapes. Soon after I discovered and transitioned to Recycled silver & gold. During the time I got a new camera & improved product photography which is the foundation of the current product shoots. Unfortunately I started feeling that the jewellery became rather stark and the whole work process lacked some spark. I was not happy anymore so I packed my bags and moved back to Lithuania.
The Restart
With the move I was so eager to start something new again. At the time I came back to Vilnius it was a lockdown due to Covid which slowed everything down.I had a lot of time to rethink where I want my brand to go. I decided to look carefully through my jewellery collection and pick the items I like best to take with me on a new venture. I was also not sure about the name of the brand but the only thing I knew is that it needs a change. I had a lot of long walks through a park with one of my best friends talking about all the changes when I got reminded of my Gin Fon Ask brand. I was reluctant to go back to the same name but the more time has passed the more I realised it is the best decision. It is a new chapter with even more exciting designs and techniques!
